A Short Biography;
Co-author of "Manifesting Consciousness"
Co-creator of "The Awakening Workshop"
Deniece Dumont was born in Torrance California, in 1962. Her family then moved to Richfield Utah, where she was raised by her mother and father. Deniece had two younger brothers and all of them grew up as members of the Mormon religion.
At the tender age of eighteen Deniece Dumont found out she was pregnant with her first child. Frightened, and with limited options, she married the babies father. The marriage lasted about a year and she found herself the divorced mother of a baby boy, and the star character of a cautionary tale.
She redeemed herself when she married her second husband who was considered "a pillar of the society" due to his family's business and his status in the church. They got married in the Mormon Temple and Deniece was on her way to repairing her tarnished reputation.
After having her second child, and ten years of playing the role of Mormon housewife, Deniece realized there was something vital missing from her relationship and her life. On the surface everything appeared picture perfect, but in reality the state of her life grated against her spirit.
Deniece had grown very depressed and after a three week stay in the hospital, eventually left her husband and their idealistic lifestyle. She realized she had lost herself and needed to re-discover who she was and heal from a tumultuous relationship.
She met a man who was the exact opposite of her second husband and his peaceful, accepting nature provided a safe place for her to heal. Her upbringing in the church influenced her to get married right away, so with her new husband and two children, she moved to Olympia Washington.
Life for Deniece became less chaotic, and since her new husband didn't have any kids of his own, they decided to have a child. This decision didn't come lightly for Deniece because she knew having a child was a lifetime commitment.
After five years of marriage, Deniece discovered that a true partnership required more than just a quiet place to heal. Instead of an equal partnership, it seemed more like she had an additional child. She loved him dearly but their marriage and her own personal growth had become stagnate.
For the last two years, she had been very close friends with another married couple and their young son who made a perfect playmate for her youngest child. Her friend's husband Travis, was a home remodeler and Deniece would occasionally work for him on jobs when he needed some extra help. The two couples were very close and even bowled on the same team together.
After Travis's thirtieth birthday, things started to change dramatically in his world and in hers. Both of them had begun to Awaken and they were realizing how much they had in common from their personality types to their philosophies and the way they looked at life.
Travis's nine year marriage began to collapse and Deniece found herself drawn to him. she didn't want to drag her husband or her kids through a painful divorce, but despite all the logical objections she knew she had finally found the partner that she always felt she was meant to be with.
When she married Travis, Deniece's life shot her into an action packed rollercoaster ride that steered her in a totally new direction filled with Painful Self Discovery and Spiritual Development. Their journey even took them to Manhattan New York where they lived for four years, while they continued their studies on Human Behavior and the development of Consciousness.
After twelve years of marriage and intensive spiritual study, Deniece Dumont has co-written a book with her husband titled; Manifesting Consciousness
sub-titled; "A Personal Journey through the Awakening Process", and has co-created The Awakening Workshop website.
