Awakening from Depression

An Immediate Consequence of the "Awakening Work"

Awakening from Depression saved my life! Had I not been given the Gift of Awakening, I’m not sure what my life would be like or if I would even be alive. At times, my depression got so bad that I started to entertain thoughts of suicide. I had lost all hope for Happiness in my life, and as I reached the Peak of Despair at age thirty, something miraculous happened!

I began to see my life in a new light.

I wasn’t exactly sure what was happening to me, but for the first time in my life I was willing to hand over the controls to God and let Him guide me. As soon as I did, I began to see "The Light at the End of the Tunnel" as I began awakening from depression.

It seems to be part of the human dynamic, that we don’t become open to real change until we are so miserable that our resolve finally softens. Then as Consciousness emerges, we become more receptive to something we could never realize in our unconscious state.

During depression, my thought processes were so unrealistic and insane that I'm not surprised I was depressed. I was living under the illusion that I could control something that could not be controlled. As the truth dawned on me, I started to see that desperately trying to accomplish something that wasn't possible was the cause of all my misery and suffering. This realization led me to see that I was the one responsible for my own state of being and my own thoughts. Before that moment, I blamed all of my problems and pain on someone or something else, which disempowered me to change it.

Awakening from Depression helped me take responsibility for my life, because I saw I had the power to change my attitude and perceptions about the circumstances of my life. Those changes wouldn’t be easy, but they certainly beat the alternative of living in the "hell like" state I was in. Like the line from “The Shawshank Redemption” when the character played by Tim Robbins says;

“Get busy living or get busy dying”, and I knew I wanted to live!

"Acceptance is the great healer of strife, conflict, and upset. It also corrects major imbalances of perception and precludes the dominance of negative feelings. Everything serves a purpose. Humility means that we will not understand all events or occurrences. Acceptance is not passivity, but non-positionality."
David R Hawkins

"One is not "forced" to feel resentment by a negative memory, nor does one have to buy into a fearful thought about the future. These are only options. The mind is like a television set running its various channels for selection, and one does not have to follow any particular temptation of thought. One can fall into the temptation of feeling sorry for oneself, or feeling angry or worried. The secret attraction of all these options is that they offer an inner payoff or a secret satisfaction that is the source of the attraction of the mind's thoughts."
David R Hawkins

"You know quite well, deep within you, that there is only a single magic, a single power, a single salvation...and that is called loving. Well, then, love your suffering. Do not resist it, do not flee from it. It is your aversion that hurts, nothing else."
Hermann Hesse

"Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others."
Buddha

"There is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth, the persistent refusal to analyze the causes of happenings."
Dorothy Thompson

DEPRESSION

Awakening from Depression is an encredible blessing! I have personally been depressed many times throughout my life, and had I not started the Awakening Process, I'm not sure how my life would have turned out. Therapy and medications can help depression symptoms, but until the core problem is addressed, depression will return. Self evaluation and personal reflection is what's needed to discover the root of the issue and heal the pain caused by it. The associated self destructive thoughts about your issues, need to be corrected before any peace or resolution can take place. Awakening from Depression means challenging the self destructive thoughts that keep you confined in an unhealthy state.
