Awakened Relationships

A New Kind of Relationship

Awakened Relationships are still few and far between in this day and age. That is primarily due to the relatively small number of awakened individuals there are on the planet. However, there are many levels in the Awakening Process, and an awakened relationship can simply be the union of two individuals working together to reach a common goal of becoming fully conscious and self aware.

It's not that relationships aren't already doing this, in fact every relationship is designed to help us become Conscious. The difference is our awareness of this purpose and the desire to pursue it.

Deniece and I started working together towards becoming self aware even before we were a couple. We had been close Friends for two years and had been sharing painful stories from our past, including reading material on human behavior. For me, there was little doubt that a relationship with Deniece would be very different from my two prior Romantic Relationships, and one that would eventually challenge every preconceived idea I had about love, romance, marriage, and the nature of relationships in general. A new kind of relationship had already begun, and even though it was kind of scary and unfamiliar, wild horses couldn't keep me from pursuing it. I felt inexplicably drawn to this woman.

One of the toughest personal challenges I faced, at the beginning of our union, was the dissolution of other personal relationships with Family and Friends. This was probably due to the dramatic changes in my demeanor. I wasn't the same person, and everything I wanted from life had changed. I was leaving the village, which I believe made those who were closet to me, feel abandoned or ignored. In a few cases, some of them seemed almost desperate to get the "old Travis" back. Unfortunately, once new awareness emerges in someone, it almost impossible to go back to the way you were.

Almost immediately, I saw the incredible potential for growth in a relationship with Deniece because she inspired me to be a better man. She also helped me talk about painful experiences including insecurities and fears by being so open and honest about her own. My past relationships had mostly been superficial in nature and an example of what I didn't want to be, but Deniece shared so many of the same values and was clearly heading in the same direction. In essence, our union re-aligned me with my spirit, which opened new doors to all sorts of Universal Guidance and opportunities for personal growth.

As consciousness continues to emerge on our planet, I believe Awakened Relationships will become more prevalent due to an increased desire to move towards a common goal. A goal that goes beyond the superficial by seeing the importance of self awareness and a shared interest in supporting the "Greater Good" of all mankind.
